While trolling through realtor.com, I saw a beautiful home in Truckee (the less expensive neighbor of Incline) with incredible views of Donner Lake. The beautiful house was $625,000. Obviously this is out of my budget.
There are obviously less expensive houses there, but the pretty ones seem to start at $600K.
The house above is listed at $450,000, 1440sf, 3/2 and is in Incline Village. Small but cute. It has no garage.
Right now I'm stuck. I have spent the last three weeks walking around with butterflies in my stomach wondering whether I should simply move to Incline or first check out two other locations in Utah and Montana. Houses in Midway, Utah and Livingston, Montana are less expensive. This house, for instance, is located in Midway and listed at $318,000 for 3,700sf. Huge! But they are not in the mountains, they are in a valley surrounded by mountains. On the other hand, they get snow!
I am afraid of making a mistake, of choosing the wrong place. What if I can't find a job in Incline/Truckee? Of course, I could say the say for Montana and Utah. However, I can't stay here forever, at some point I'll have to move forward.
