Today I cancelled my trip to Midway, Utah. The job prospects and house prospects I mentioned in yesterday's post made me realize where my heart is, and therefore a trip to Midway was no longer necessary.

I am now going to focus my job hunt on the Lake Tahoe region with Denver as a back-up. I feel a sense of relief now that I've made the decision.

The turning point for me came last week while I was listening to Steering by Starlight, by Martha Beck, while driving around town. She mentioned an exercise where you are to imagine for ten minutes your perfect life. When I did the exercise I saw myself driving my beloved baby Hummer through Lake Tahoe and pulling into the driveway of my house. Everything about this scene filled me with joy and a feeling of being home.

It's interesting that I don't get the same feeling about Evergreen, Colorado despite the fact that I spent the month of September there so that experience was much more recent. Although I did have a wonderful time there, which is why it remains in consideration.

What does this mean? I don't know, I'm going to sit back and relax and see if the rest of the pieces will fall into place. I've re-calibrated my job search engines to reflect these changes, I've contacted another real estate agent in Tahoe. So let's see what comes up next.
