What to Do When You're Feeling Confused and Alone

"But the fruit of the Sprit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." - Galatians 5:22-23

I didn't sleep well last night. I tossed and turned throughout the night, worrying about my career and everything related to that.

SO

When I began my devotions this morning, I read the verse above from Galatians.

Oh, how I long for that peace.

Then, a snippet from the verse from 1 Corinthians popped into my head and I had to go look it up to get the words just right.

It was an important reminder that what I'm going through may have many reasons, but it's not a punishment from God.

God is not a God of confusion.

He is the Source of our Peace.

The most valuable lesson I've learned this year is that when I make time to turn to God through the pages of the Bible, and through prayer, I can find peace no matter what I'm facing.

By reading the Bible, I am learning to see things from God's perspective.

When I was searching for the verse from 1 Corinthians, I came across this passage from the September 12th reading for My Utmost for His Highest, by Oswald Chambers. I beautifully explains what how God may be at work in our lives when we are facing a period of confusion that has us feeling alone, scared, or frustrated...

There are times in your spiritual life when there is confusion, and the way out of it is not simply to say that you should not be confused. It is not a matter of right and wrong, but a matter of God taking you through a way that you temporarily do not understand. And it is only by going through the spiritual confusion that you will come to the understanding of what God wants for you.

I hope you turn to God today, and everyday. Make time each day to spend quiet time with God in the Holy Bible and in prayer. I promise, that no matter what you are facing, you will find strength and the knowledge that you are not alone, but that God is with you every step of the way.

Love xo,

Suzanne
